A teacher stood in front of her class and announced a challenge. “I’ll give two dollars to the child who can tell me who the most famous man who ever lived was.” The room immediately filled with excitement as students began thinking of historical figures they had learned about in school.
An Irish boy quickly raised his hand and confidently answered, “It was St. Patrick.” The teacher smiled politely but explained that his answer was not correct. A few students nodded while others continued thinking about who the right person might be.
Next, a French boy eagerly offered his answer. “It was Napoleon,” he declared. Once again, the teacher thanked him for participating but explained that Napoleon was not the answer she was looking for. The classroom grew even more curious as students wondered who could possibly be more famous.
Finally, another boy raised his hand. The teacher called on him, and he confidently said, “Jesus Christ.” The teacher smiled and announced that he was correct. She handed him the two dollars and praised him for his answer. After class, she asked why he had chosen that response.
The boy grinned and quietly replied, “Well, I actually thought it was Abraham Lincoln—but business is business.” The unexpected answer left the teacher speechless for a moment before the entire room burst into laughter.
