Everything had seemed perfectly normal. We met at a supermarket, exchanged numbers, and quickly discovered we enjoyed each other’s company. After a successful first date, we went out again a few days later. By the time I got home, I was already thinking about where we might go for a third date.
The next morning, however, I woke up feeling a strange burning sensation on my forehead. At first, I assumed it was a minor skin irritation or an allergic reaction. But when I looked in the mirror, I was stunned. The redness, irritation, and crusting appeared to have developed almost overnight, leaving me searching for an explanation.
Concerned, I scheduled a medical appointment as soon as possible. The doctor examined the affected area and asked a series of questions about recent activities, medications, allergies, and possible exposures. After several tests and a closer examination, the cause became much clearer than I expected.
The diagnosis revealed that the condition was not related to the woman I had been seeing at all. Instead, it was a severe skin infection that had likely been developing before our second date and only became visible afterward. The timing was a coincidence, but one that made it easy to assume the two events were connected.
Fortunately, with proper treatment and medical care, the condition gradually improved. The experience taught me an important lesson: when unusual symptoms appear, it is easy to jump to conclusions, but professional medical advice is always the best place to find answers. Sometimes the explanation is far different from the one we first imagine.
