Popular Yogurt Brand Recalled Over Plastic Contamination

A major recall has been announced for one of the most popular yogurt brands in the U.S. after reports of plastic contamination in certain products.

The company behind YoCrunch, known for its yogurt cups with cookie and candy toppers, has voluntarily pulled several batches from store shelves after customers discovered small, sharp fragments of plastic inside the topping domes.

Officials say the contamination likely came from a packaging malfunction during production, where pieces of broken plastic from the machinery may have fallen into the dome section. The main yogurt portion is not affected — but the topping cups pose a choking risk, especially for children.

The recall affects multiple varieties, including those with M&Ms, Oreo cookies, and granola mix-ins, sold nationwide in supermarkets and convenience stores.

Consumers are being advised to check the packaging carefully and avoid eating any products marked with the affected batch codes. Anyone who purchased the recalled items can return them for a full refund or contact the company’s consumer hotline for assistance.

While no serious injuries have been reported so far, the company issued an apology, assuring customers that safety remains their top priority. “We’re working around the clock to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” their statement said.

If you have YoCrunch in your fridge, check it now — it’s better to be safe than sorry.
